Studio portrait of 2761 Private Cecil Ernest Bartlett, 5th Reinforcements, 32nd Battalion, 1st AIF, in full battle dress. He is holding a gas mask in his left hand and a rifle with bayonet fixed to it in his right. Private Bartlett was born in Leasingham, SA, in 1893 and enlisted in the AIF on 4 January 1916. He was killed in action in France on 30 September 1917. The portrait was produced as a postcard that Private Bartlett sent to his wife in Mintaro, SA.
