Description

Middle East. C. 1943. Sergeant (Sgt) R. G. Gregory of Sydney, NSW, reported that he had seen Rommel looking anxious while he had been a prisoner in German hands in Tripolitania. Sgt Gregory had been shot down by anti-aircraft fire while he was attacking enemy motor transport in the Tarhuma area. He was taken prisoner but escaped when the Germans in charge of him fled from Allied bombing attacks. He was picked up by a mobile Broadcast Unit.
