Middle East. C. 1943. Portrait of a peace-time farmer from Albury, NSW, who is now a radio operator on aircraft of the Air Sea Rescue Service. Possibly identified as 400512 Flying Officer Alan Franklin Paton RAAF, who, serving with No. 31 Squadron SAAF, was killed in a flying battle over Bulgaria on 29 June 1944.
