Description

Published on Anzac Day 1991 this cartoon depicts a rifle stuck into the ground as though it is marking the grave of a dead soldier. The shadow cast by the rifle appears in the shape of a boomerang. The captions reads 'Lest we forget....our Aboriginal diggers too'.

Sean Leahy became the youngest, regularly published cartoonist on an Australian daily newspaper in 1975 when he was 17 years old. He began his career as a cartoonist for the 'West Australian' newspaper and for 8 years studied graphic design and completed a press artist's cadetship at the 'West Australian' . In 1983 he moved to Queensland to draw for 'The Sun' and the 'Sunday Sun'.
