Collection relating to the First World War service of 1250 Lance Corporal (later Sergeant) William Leslie (Les) McGrath, 19 Battalion and 5 Training Battalion, Egypt, France, England, 1915-1919.

Wallet 1 of 2 – This Wallet contains letters from 1250 Lance Corporal (later Sergeant) William Leslie (Les) McGrath to Mary Petrie from Liverpool (Sydney), Heliopolis and Tel-El-Kebir (Egypt), Gallipoli, France, and Lincoln and Harefield Park (England) including various hospitals, written between 30 April 1915 and 2 July 1916. The letters describe training in Australia, training and entertainments in Egypt and one letter describes service on Gallipoli.
