Description
UK. C. 1943-05. The King and Queen visited a Lancaster station of RAF Bomber Command and met members of the crews which carried out the spectacular and successful attack on the Ruhr Valley Dams. Their guide was Wing Commander G. P. Gibson who was awarded the VC for leading the attack, and holds the DSO and Bar and DFC and Bar. His Majesty is here congratulating Flight Lieutenant H. B. Martin, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, of Sydney, NSW, who was awarded the DSO. He already holds the DFC.
