Plymouth, England. 1943-05-24. The funeral of the late 32960 Acting Sergeant (A/Sgt) E. Dewhurst and the late 32847 A/Sgt N. J. Owen, both of No. 10 (Sunderland) Squadron RAAF based at RAF Station Mount Batten, was held at Efford Cemetery. Squadron personnel present included the Commanding Officer 132 Wing Commander G. C. Hartnell of Gippsland, Vic, officers and airmen. The Station Commanding Officer 44 Group Captain J. Alexander OBE, was also present. Both A/Sgts Dewhurst and Owen were lost on operations over the English Channel on May 20 1943.
