Haselden, Thomas Lester (Gunner)
Description
Three original poems written by Gunner Haselden during his posting to North Queensland. The poem "The rats of Aitkenvale" and "Draft" express the frustration of a soldier in camp awaiting active service overseas. The last poem "Advance Australia" reflects the hostility of servicemen to the news of industrial action by the painters and dockers union in Australia during wartime.
