Australian flag : Coffin of the Unknown Australian Soldier
Description
Australian blue ensign designed and made not to be flown from a flag staff. Sewn to the flag are three pairs of loops and press studs which allowed the flag to be fixed to the coffin of the Unknown Austalian Soldier.
History / Summary
This flag was draped around the coffin during the ceremony of the interment of the Unknown Australian Soldier, Remembrance Day 1993. It was removed inside the Hall of Memory prior to the interment of the coffin.
