Description
`A Sea of Tents' is a non-fiction work which gives an account of the social life of young Australian soldiers in the Middle East during World War Two. It covers life on board the troop convoys, experiences at ports en route and life in the training camps and cities of Palestine and Egypt. It does not contain details of battles or other military actions. The work is based on oral history recorded by the author and some information drawn from official records held at the Australian War Memorial.
