Two Postcards related to Private Francis Kinkead
Description
Two postcards related to the service of NX953 Private (Pte) Francis Kinkead, 2/4/ Australian Infantry Battalion. Both postcards feature Pte Kinkead’s portrait. The postcard with “Egypt Best Wishes” printed on the front includes two unidentified Australian soldiers. Both postcards have letters written on the back – one to his father, Thomas, the other to his mother, Jane. Pte Kinkead was 27 years old when he died on 3 may 1945, while serving in New Guinea.
