Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 1174 Private Herbert Leslie Lenham, 35 Battalion, England, 1916.
Wallet 1 of 1 - Consists of a letter Lenham wrote to his sister Maude on 17 July 1916 from Parkhouse Hospital in England while suffering from the mumps. Lenham writes that he is eager to get to the frontline and is optimistic that they will beat the Germans. He also discusses the weather, describes the Australian training camp at Salisbury Plain and the many aeroplanes flying overhead, and complains about the lack of letters he has received.
