Description

Indian Ocean. 1942. Life rafts, used by survivors of a Greek merchant ship which had been torpedoed south east of Cape Town, drifting astern of Australian Navy destroyer HMAS Norman after the Australian ship had taken the survivors aboard. Four other ships, apparently part of a convoy, can be seen in the background.
