Description
Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal, Victorian third type with a swivelling scroll suspender. Engraved on the edge with the recipients number, rank, name, regiment and date. Obverse: A trophy of arms with the royal arms within an oval in the centre. Reverse: The words for LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT' on four lines. The medal is fitted with a piece of plain 32 mm crimson ribbon.
History / Summary
Awarded to Private D Mason for 21 years service with good conduct in the British Army. He served mainly in India and Burma with the 40th and 62nd Regiments of Foot.
