Bath day DPR/TV/1006
After days of searching through dense jungles in their quest for enemy camps and caches, members of D Company, 9th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, came across a river where they had their first good wash for several days. With patrols out ensuring the vicinity was clear of any enemy, soldiers of the company stripped off their sweat and dust stained clothes and entered the river for a swim. Within minutes, the soldiers were cleaned and the weariness of endless trudging through the jungle lifted in the cool waters of the stream. As a patrol moved across behind the washing troops, the short wash ended. Once again it was a time for donning their jungle green uniforms, hoisting on packs, picking up weapons and away to continue their relentless search for Viet Cong assets in the area.
