Description
Canberra, ACT, 1942-09. A Dutch trainee pilot with No. 18 Squadron, Netherlands Air Force, undergoing training in a Link Trainer, a flight simulator which has been set up in an office at the RAAF Station (later RAAF Base Fairbairn) where the squadron was based. Like a real aircraft, the simulator is equipped with a control wheel and instrument panel. By means of the headphones he is wearing, the pilot is in communication with another member of the squadron (not in view) who is running the training session.
