Group portrait of Australian prisoners-of-war (POWs) just before they departed from Turkey at the end of the war. The group of ten may correspond to the ten POWs from the 6th Australian Light Horse Regiment (6LH) who survived captivity. Back row first from left is 2382 Trooper Cecil T. Spencer; 4th from left in the back row is 1129 Lance Corporal (L/Cpl) Walter Moll of C Company, B Squadron, 6LH; probably 1386 Tpr Frederick Arthur Gannon (back row far right). 3rd from left in the front row is 858 Trooper (Tpr) Alexander Crockett, also of 6LH. If the group does comprise surviving POWs from 6LH, it includes: 948 L/Cpl A. R. Hewitson; 2346 Tpr L. Lambert; 3048 Tpr R. Clarke; 257 Tpr H. C. Farley; 619 Sergeant W. J. King; 1233 Tpr J. D. MacPherson. Moll and Crockett were prisoners of the Turks, while all of the others were held by Germans troops .
