1941. David Leslie Rintel (left), a driver with the 1st Australian Corps, Petrol Park, standing beside the hull of the transport ship "SS Mauretania". The troopship transported Rintel and his colleagues to the Middle East. Rintel, a photographer in civilian life, later transferred to the Military History Unit as a Warrant Officer and served in New Guinea. (Original print held in AWM Archive Store) (Donor D. Rintel)
