Ypres area, Belgium, 1917. A cemetery with, in the foreground, the grave of 1173 Sapper Albert Emmanuel Lee, 2nd Divisional Signals Company, 1st AIF, who died of wounds on 1917-09-21. In the background at left is the grave of 4598 Private Carlton Frederick Stoodley, 31st Battalion, who died of wounds on 1917-09-27. Immediately behind Stoodley's cross is that of a "G. May", probably 6558 Private Douglas George May, 8th Battalion, who also died of wounds on 1917-09-21. Behind and partly obscured by Lee's cross at left is the cross marking the grave of another soldier from 8th Battalion, --68 Sergeant G. W. P----. The white cross in the background at right bears the name "Edward Baker" and may mark the grave of 4113 Private Edward Baker, 25th Battalion, who was killed in action on 1917-09-17.
