Collection relating to the Second World War service of NX16238 Private James Norman "Norm" Liddiard, 2/17 Australian Infantry Battalion, Libya, 12 August 1941.
Wallet 1 of 1 - Collection contains one handwritten six-page letter from Private James Norman "Norm" Liddiard to his aunt Grace, 12 August 1941. This letter was written by Private Liddiard while on active service overseas and describes the arrival of 2/17 Battalion at Tobruk, the conditions, and a detailed account of the German attack on the perimeter on 13-14 April 1941, including the circumstances under which Edmondson was awarded the Victoria Cross.
Collection also includes a photocopy of the transcript of the letter. The maker of the transcript is unknown.
