Collection relating to the military career of VX20308 Lieutenant General Frank Horton Berryman, KCVO, CB, CBE, DSO, GHQ SWPA, GOC East (Md), 7 Australian Division (formerly 2 Corps, Land Headquarters (LHQ), 2 Australian Divisional Artillery, 5 Australian Field Artillery Brigade, 14 Australian Field Artillery Battery, 18 Australian Field Artillery Battery, Royal Australian Artillery, 6 Australian Division), 1920-1953.

Wallet 74 of 90 – Wallet consists of a corpus of documents covering the period December 1940-January 1941 and relating to the Battle of Bardia which took place from 3-5 January 1941 and the role played by the 6 Division during that period. These documents include: a series of reports; maps of the Bardia region; notes; message forms sent by Berryman during the battle; conference notes; battle diaries. A detailed 53-page official report provides information on the general situation in the Middle East and North Africa prior to the battle, the preparation for the attack, as well as a description of the different phases, and a diary of the battle.
