Description

Papers of Maude Elizabeth Edmondson relating to the life and Second World War service of NX15705 Corporal John Hurst "Jack" Edmondson, 2/17 Battalion, Australia and Libya, 1916-1956.

Wallet 3 of 4 contains four folders.

Folder 1 of 4 contains five items relating to the life and military service of the late Corporal Edmondson. Collection contains one photograph of Jack Edmondson at two and a half years of age; an undated letter from Alan Keato, Honourable Secretary of the Liverpool District Ambulance Service regarding the successful completion of the First Aid examination; and two letters of commendation dated 22 April 1926 and 2 June 1927 from Honourable Secretary B. C. Fitzpatrick of the Liverpool Agricultural, Horticultural, and Industrial Society regarding work performed as an “official runner” at the Society’s annual show.

Collection also contains an AIF Corporal’s Certificate certifying that at an examination held on 24 July 1939, 43257 Private Edmondson, 4th Battalion qualified for the rank of Corporal.
