Avon, England. 1943-09-11. RAAF Sergeant Pilots and Flying Officer Hallam, with Mr A. G. Powell, Home Honourable Secretary, Bishops Knoll (Australian) Old Comrades' Society, visiting the Soldier's Corner at Arno's Vale Cemetery, after attending the funeral of Sergeant Wilfred Shapcott, RAAF, of Melbourne, Vic. In this sacred plot of ground are buried many Australian soldiers who died of wounds or sickness in Bristol during the last Great War. A Service of Remembrance is held on the spot on Anzac Day, every year.
