Description
Soldier's passport photos beneath images of side-show clowns, portraying the soldier as a 'side-show' clown waiting for the ball to fall into the appropriate slot, a parallel between the ballot system for conscripts and the element of chance in a side-show exhibit, 'human life as a lottery'. The phrase '1, 2, 3, 4, 5, thought I'd keep myself alive; 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, then they sent us back again' appear on the right side of the work. Two 'identity discs' made from printing plates are beneath the photo etching.
