Identified back row from left to right: Flying Officer (FO) "Brad" Bradbury, RAF; FO Johnnie Attlee, RAF; 414419 FO John Walter McDonald, RAAF from Brisbane, Queensland (aircraft captain - killed 11 February 1944 on flying operations over France); and Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) John Buxton (Jack) Stinson, RAAF from Sydney, NSW (killed 23 September 1944 on flying operations over north west Europe). Front row: Pilot Officer Murray Alfred Line, RAAF from Sydney (killed 11 November 1943 on flying operations over France); and Flt Sgt William Bernard (Bill) Kaus, RAAF from Brisbane (wireless air gunner). The squadron's role was to ferry members of the resistance or underground in and out of occupied Europe.
