It was the crew's first bombing mission in any aircraft. Identified from left to right: Sergeant (Sgt) S E Rayner of Colchester, UK; Sgt R C Thorpe of Enfield, Middlesex, UK; Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) F G Hursey of Wimbledon, London; Flying Officer R Hodgson of Baguley, Manchester, UK; Flt Sgt J A Dixon of Sudberyont, Canada; Sgt A Ayres of Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire, UK;and 427450 Fl Sgt Ronald John Draffin of Scarborough, Western Australia (killed on flying operations on 25 March 1944 while serving with 640 Squadron).
