Berlin, Germany. C. 1944-03-08. Reconnaissance photograph showing effect of RAF Bomber Command's tremendous blows at the heart of the German capital since the real Battle of Berlin was opened by the heavy night bombers 1943-11. The Air Ministry building (right) shows no obvious sign of damage, but many public and official buildings in the immediate neighbourhood are either completely destroyed or very severely damaged. Area shown, approximately 700 yards by 620 yards.
