Clinchamps near Falaise, France. C. 1944-08. Trying desperately to escape from the advancing Allied forces, Von Kluge's Army in Normandy openly use the roads by day, providing lucrative targets for aircraft of 2nd Tactical Air Force. German transport filled the road at Clinchamps where there was great congestion. Part of the column is cutting across a field in the top left of the picture while on the road itself the traffic is two or three abreast.
