Mosquito aircraft of RAF Coastal Command attacked four Dornier 217 aircraft carrying glider bombs, off the mouth of the Gironde on the evening of 1944-08-09, destroying two of the enemy aircraft. The Dornier has been hit again, and goes down towards the sea - burning and out of control.
