Kiarivu, New Guinea. 1945-08-06. After a patrol from the 2/7th Australian Infantry Battalion, AIF, occupied a feature around the Kiarivu emergency landing ground a C47 Douglas aircraft dropped supplies for the patrol members engaged on a six day sortie into Japanese held territory. A supply parachute can be seen nearing the dropping zone.
