Description
Bengal, India. C. 1944-10. Leading Aircraftman C. A. G. Horner of London, second from right, who served with the Balloon Barrage in London during the blitz and experienced the Japanese attacks on the port of Chittagong, is now an instructor with a balloon squadron in Bengal. He is shown with a class of West African soldiers who are being trained with Indians to take over balloon duties. He has no language difficulties; the West Africans speak enough English and Horner has picked up sufficient Urdu to enable him to conduct bi-lingual courses.
