Description
Benjamin Kennett relates the shooting down of Red Baron; Richthofen's aircraft flew low over the position of the 43rd Infantry Battalion in heavy fog; a number of rifles fired first then machine guns from 3rd Machine Gun Battalion; bullet wound in head of Richthofen and the removal of his watch for return to Germany; other recollections include being runner for signallers; observer; false report of German tank; mentions Captain Freeman.
