The battle cruiser HMS HOOD at speed between the wars. The ship mounts 5.5 inch secondary guns amidships and two 4 inch Mark V high angle guns are mounted on the shelter deck aft indicating that the photograph was taken prior to armament modifications in 1939 and 1940 which saw the replacement of these guns with twin 4 inch Mark XIX mountings..
