Kyaukse, Burma. 1945-02-12. RAF Liberator aircraft and US Army Air Force B-24 aircraft of Strategic Air Force, Eastern Air Command bombed the Japanese headquarters for Mandalay at Kyaukse. This heavy air attack was made in support of our troops of the British 14th Army in their assault on Mandalay. The crews who took part in the attack reported widespread damage to this - one of the most vital Japanese strongholds in Burma.
