Borkum, Germany. 1944-08-25. Aerial view, one of the best action pictures ever taken of an anti-shipping strike, shows Beaufighter aircraft of RAF Coastal Command in an attack on an enemy "M" class minesweeper. The minesweeper was one of the convoy of approximately eight vessels attacked north west of Borkum. On either side of the vessel are tracks made by salvos of rockets entering the water. The smoke trails in the middle of the picture are also from the rockets while the white specks are tracer from the attacked vessels. The minesweeper was left smoking heavily.
