Description
Collection relating to the Second World War service of VX9880 Gerald Thomas Carroll, 2/7 Infantry Battalion, POW in Germany. Collection consists of a Wartime Log book kept while a POW at Stalag V111B (Lamsdorf) and Stalag Luft 111 (Sagan), commenting on general conditions, escape attempts, sports, concerts, forced marches in 1945. Includes letters, photographs, drawings, German stamps and currency, printed materials. Also includes a narrative of service and POW experiences.
