Description
A humorous pencil drawing by official war artist Frank Crozier. This is one of a small collection of sketchers and watercolours by Crozier which were donated to the Memorial in memory of Major Reginald 'Babe' Havill Norman. Norman befriended the artist whilst serving both were serving on the Western Front under Brigadier General John Gellibrand in 1916. When Gellibrand became aware of Crozier's talent he encouraged him to sketch the battle of Pozieres and surrounding landscape. Norman was at the time Gellibrand's Adjunct.
