Group portrait of Headquarters, 2/2 Pioneer Battalion. Identified, front row: VX14906 Captain James Russell Goding AAMC; Captain Albert Henry John Ross; Lieutenant Colonel Nelson Frederick Wellington MC VD (commanding Officer; Major Joe Tilson Lang MC; Warrant Officer Angus. At least ten of those in the group, including Captain Ross, Lt Col Wellington and Major Lang, are veterans of the First World War, and Ross and Wellington were both later prisoners of war.
