England. C. 1945-04. Portrait of Squadron Leader Barry Edward "Gusty" Gale DFC of South Yarra, Vic, who led an RAF Fighter Command Squadron which supports heavy bombers attacking targets in Germany and Holland. He was the only Australian to command a home-based fighter squadron of RAF pilots.
