Nadzab, New Guinea. 1943-09-05. Aircraft of the United States Army Air Force laying smoke in preparation for a paratroop attack by members of the 503 United States Paratroop Infantry Regiment and members of the 2/4th Australian Field Regiment with their twenty five pounder guns. This was the first operational paratroop drop in which Australian soldiers took part.
