Weston, Borneo. 1945-06-17. TX446 Lieutenant D. Billett, 2/32nd Australian Infantry Battalion, accompanied by a crew member from HMAS Lachlan, landed in the proposed operational area one day before the Australian invasion date of Operation Oboe West. His landing was made from HMAS Lachlan. The two men carried out a thorough reconnaissance of all aspects of the first 1000 yards and reported details to the invasion commanders.
