Kuching, Sarawak. 1945-09-11. Brigadier T.C. Eastwick, Commanding Kuching Force, 9 Australian Army Division, accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel A.W. Walsh, Commanding Officer 2/10th Australian Field Regiment (a liberated prisoner of war), together with Japanese Colonel T. Suga, Commandant of Borneo Prisoner of War Camps, attended a parade held at the Prisoner of War and Internee Camp of Kuching to inform the occupants of their liberation.
