Studio portrait of 3264 Private (Pte) Thomas William Pearson, 47th Australian Infantry Battalion. A miner prior to enlisting on 21 September 1916, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Demosthenes (A64) on 22 December 1916. Pte Pearson was killed in action, in Belgium, on 20 August 1917. He was 45 years old.
