Collection relating to the First World War service of 10673 Driver Nigel Crawford, 24th Australian Army Service Corps Company, Australian Imperial Force, Australia, 1916.

Wallet 1 of 1 – Consists of one menu associated with the service of Driver Nigel Crawford. This menu relates to a dinner given by the 22nd Company, Australian Army Service Corps in Sydney on 1 March 1916, several months before Driver Crawford embarked for overseas service. The menu contains approximately 96 signatures of people that are believed to have attended the dinner, including Driver Crawford’s signature in the centre of the inner right page of the menu.

History / Summary

Driver Nigel Crawford enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force in Sydney on 20 January 1916, after previously serving in the militia. He was posted to the 24th Company, Australian Army Service Corps, and embarked for overseas service on 30 May 1916. Driver Crawford served with his unit in France, and returned to Australia in July 1919.
