Description
"On top of the/ Pyramid of/ "Cheops". Cec and I [Roy on left]/ Mena/ Egypt March 1915. Brothers 513 Trooper Cecil Solomon, embarked with the 7th Australian Light Horse Regiment and 140 Trooper Roy Henry Solomon with the 5th Australian Light Horse Regiment, both butchers prior to enlistment, in December 1914. Cecile transfered to the 56th Battalion in October 1916 and returned to Australia in December 1918. On 30 June 1915, Roy Henry Solomon died at sea aboard HMHS Sicilia, of wounds received in the Dardanelles.
