Description
Brothers 140 Trooper Roy Henry Solomon (left) and 513 Trooper Cecil Solomon (right) standing "On top of/ Pyramid of/ "Cheops" at/ Mena/ Egypt/ March 1915. In December 1914, Trooper Cecil Solomon embarked with the 7th Australian Light Horse Regiment and Trooper Roy Henry Solomon with the 5th Australian Light Horse Regiment, both butchers prior to enlistment. Cecil transferred to the 56th Battalion in October 1916 and returned to Australia in December 1918. On 30 June 1915, Roy Henry Solomon died at sea aboard HMHS Sicilia, of wounds received in the Dardanelles.
