215835 Colonel Ernest Patrick Chamberlain, Australian Defence Attaché in Cambodia, and a group of senior military officers representing three of the four factions competing for political dominance in Cambodia at the time enjoy a cup of coffee after attending the Anzac Day dawn service at “Pteah Australi”, the base of the Australian Force Communication Unit (FCU) in Phnom Penh. The officers are from left to right: General Pann Thay, Commander Khmer People's National Liberation Armed Forces (KPNLAF); Major General Phoung Siphon Commander Cambodian People's Armed Forces (CPAF); General Kruech Yoeum, Commander National Army of Independent Cambodia (ANKI); Colonel Hing Lang, head of the Foreign Liaison Section, Ministry of Defence, CPAF; Colonel Lay Boon Song KPNLAF and Colonel E.P. Chamberlain, Australian Defence Attaché, Phnom Penh. The Khmer Rouge were invited to send a senior cadre, but declined the invitation.
