Phnom Penh, Cambodia. 1992-11-01. At work in the Communications Centre at HQ UNTAC (United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia), Leading Aircraftwoman (LACW) Kylie Kiddle of Townsville, Qld, and Corporal Mick Hicklin of Watsonia, Vic, keep the communications lines open. LACW Kiddle is one of twenty RAAF personnel serving with the 500-strong Australian military communications contingent to the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Cambodia. The United Nations is attempting to bring peace to Cambodia after three decades of war as well as organising free and fair elections for the people in 1993-05.
