Description

NT. 1939-07. An informal portrait of members of Darwin Mobile Force on a surveying exercise to Bynde Harbour, Northern Territory. The survey party is at the back of their truck with their motorcycle to the side. On 1939-07-10 the survey party left Vestey's Barracks with rations and fuel for three weeks in a Ford three ton truck and a motorcycle. The party travelled south on the Adelaide road for approximately 120 kilometres then turned west to survey the land between the Adelaide road and the coast. After reaching the coast the party travelled north east and returned to Darwin.
