Description
Western Desert. A New Zealand soldier searches a German after his tank was put out of action by an anti-tank gun. The tank in the backgound is a Matilda II which was captured by Germans forces and then employed against allied forces before being recaptured (see 010861). The man with his back towards the tank is a cook from the RAAF who got mixed up with the New Zealanders during the battle.
